Anthony Sawyer

Anthony Sawyer ( born April 29, 1980 in Essex ) is a former British Skeleton driver and athlete.

Sawyer was initially active as a decathlete and 2004. His biggest success was a seventh place finish at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, where he started for England. His personal best of 7472 points he put up in Woodford on 30 May 2004.

Sawyer Skeleton operation since 2002 and since 2004 is on the National squad. He is coached by Mark Wood. His first race was more significant the British Championship, in 2003 he was sixth. Since the season 2004/ 05 he competed in competitions such as the Skeleton European Cup and the America 's Cup. But only since the 2006/07 season he achieved good results there as a second place in November 2006 at the America's Cup race in Calgary. He was also runner-up in 2006 British behind Adam Pengilly. In the 2007 /08 season, he raced for the first time in the Skeleton World Cup here and was able to quickly secure a fixed grid. His best result of the season he reached fourth place in Nagano. The Skeleton World Championships 2007 in St. Moritz, he finished in 15th. 2008/ 09 he was able to drive for the first time as third on the podium at the second round World Cup in Park City.
