Anton Mosimann

Anton Mosimann OBE ( born February 23, 1947 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss chef.

Life

He grew up as the son of a host couple on marriage in Nidau ​​at Biel and completed an apprenticeship as a chef in the restaurant bears in Twann. After completing his apprenticeship Mosimann worked in various restaurants in Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy, Japan, Canada and Sweden, as well as on board a cruise ship. In 1975 he went to Britain and became chef of the " Dorchester Hotel" in London. Since 1988 he is in London's Belgravia Club Restaurant " Belfry ".

Mosimann received various awards, including Queen Elizabeth II awarded him in 2004 the Order of the British Empire for his services to the British gastronomy.

In 2000, he acquired the Sälischlössli in Olten, in order to expand it under the name " Chateau Mosimann " at a gourmet restaurant. Just three years later he finished his project and is now focused again exclusively on his work in the " belfry ".

On 29 April 2011, he cooked the menu for the wedding of William Mountbatten -Windsor and Catherine Middleton.
