Antoni Dobrowolski

Antoni Dobrowolski ( born October 8, 1904 in Wolbórz; † 21 October 2012 in Dębno, West Pomerania ) was a Polish resistance fighter and survivor of the Holocaust.

Career

Dobrowolski was a teacher at an elementary school. After the invasion of the Wehrmacht in Poland, he joined the Secret Teacher Organization ( TAN). He was arrested in June 1942 by the Gestapo and deported to the Auschwitz main camp, where he wore the bearing number 38081. Later he came to Gross-Rosen, finally to Sachsenhausen. After the war he returned to Poland back in the teaching profession.

At his death at the age of 108 years, he was the oldest surviving Auschwitz inmate.
