Antonio Albacete

Antonio Albacete ( born January 15, 1965 in Madrid ) is a Spanish racing driver.

Career

Albacete began his career with kart racing and was from 1979 to 1981 three times in a row, Spanish runner-up. In 1981, he took up also the automobile racing and won the 1982 title in the Iberian Formula Fiesta. The following year he was fifth in the Formula Ford World Championships, and then competed in the Formula Ford 2000. In 1986, he won the title in the Spanish Formula Ford Championship, 1989, he drove a season in Formula 3000 on Lola for GA Motorsports team. In 1988 he raced in the Formula Opel Lotus, a year later in the British Formula 3000th In 1990, he won the Class 2 of the Spanish Touring Car Championship in a Toyota Corolla. The following year, he won the title again, in addition, he was also champion in the Spanish Formula Renault. In 1992, he won with a Fiat Tipo again the class 2 of the Spanish Touring Car Championship, 1993, he was runner-up in Class 1 with a BMW M3.

From 1994 to 1996 he drove for Opel, BMW and Alfa Romeo in the Spanish Touring Car Championship, in 1996 he was runner-up in the Supercopa Citroën ZX. 1997 drove Antonio Albacete his first season in the Truck Racing Championship. In the 2005 season there Albacete took his first title, he became a master in the race trucks class. Following the abolition of the second Truck class he took in 2006 the first title of the now single-track European Truck Racing Championship. In 2010 he was able to repeat this success. Albacete took all the tracks with the CEPSA -MAN team.
