Antônio Pedro de Siqueira Indio da Costa

Antônio Pedro de Siqueira Indio da Costa ( born October 20, 1970 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian lawyer and politician (PSD ). In the Brazilian presidential election in 2010 he was, nor for the Democratas, candidate for the office of vice president on the side of the defeated José Serra.

Life

Indio da Costa studied law at the University Candido Mendes and the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

He is divorced and has one daughter. His nephew, Luis Octavio Indio da Costa is Chairman of Banco Cruzeiro do Sul.

Political career

Indio da Costa rose in 1996 as a member of the liberal PFL in Brazilian politics. After a change to the PTB from 1999 to 2001 he was involved again in the PFL, the renamed into the "democrats" ( Democratas ) in 2007.

In 2006 he was selected for the State of Rio de Janeiro from Brazilian House of Representatives ( Appointed 2007). The high point of his political career was the nomination for vice presidential candidate in the presidential election of 2010. However, he documents and José Serra in the second round of the da Silva supported by the incumbent President Lula left candidate Dilma Rousseff.

End of January 2011 difference Indio da Costa from the House of Representatives, because he had not a candidate again in the 2010 election, which was held simultaneously with the presidential election. During the year 2011, he came over from the Democratas to the newly formed Partido Social Democrático (PSD ).
