Aparima River

The Aparima River is a river in the region of Southland in the south of the South Island of New Zealand.

Its headwaters located in the Takitimu Mountains, south of Lake Te Anau. It then flows for about 100 km to the south and ends at the end of Oreti Beach at Riverton in the Foveaux Strait. North of Riverton forms the river together with the River Porakino a basin that is only available through a narrow passage to the sea in conjunction. Here, the State Highway 99 crosses the river.

The Aparima is one of two rivers that have deposited, known as Southland Plains large alluvial plain.
