The Apian -Gymnasium is a secondary school in Ingolstadt.

It was formed in 1971 as a spin- out of the Christoph- Scheiner -Gymnasium.

It includes a scientific- technological branch with English as a first and French or Latin as a second language with the subjects focus on mathematics, physics and chemistry, the economic branch with English as a first, Latin or French as a second foreign language, economics and law as an additional main compartment from the 9th grade with the fan 's main business and accounting / business computer science, as well as the linguistic branch with English as a first, Latin or French as a second and third Spanish as a foreign language. The school is named after the Ingolstadt professors Peter (1495-1552) and Philipp Apian (1531-1589) and currently has about 1,200 students. The Apian -Gymnasium was initially housed in the High School in the city center, since the construction of the new building at the Maximilian street in the years 1974-78 the only school outside the old town of Ingolstadt.

The Apian -Gymnasium is characterized by particularly active promotion of the natural sciences, it has been producing state-wide, most applications to the competition "Young Scientist - Students experiment " and maintains a German schools once great collection of live animals for teaching purposes ( " Vivarium " ).
