Apis andreniformis

The dwarf bush bee ( Apis andreniformis ), also called bush honey bee, is found in Southeast Asia and Borneo. It is the smallest of the nine most and eight Asian honeybees. The dwarf bush bee builds its only about 15 cm wide, exposed honeycomb well hidden in the bushes around a small branch. The honeycomb is open plan like that of the giant honeybee ( Apis dorsata ); the breed is protected and warmed by a living curtain consisting of bees.
