Apis mellifera iberiensis

The Iberian bee ( Apis mellifera iberica ), also called Spanish bee, is a subspecies of the Western honey bee. It is native to the Iberian Peninsula and by settlement on the Balearic Islands. It belongs to the group breed of dark honey bees from northern and western Europe and is the same size as the original native to central and northern Europe, European dark bee. Even in its coloring, it hardly differs. Furthermore, it relies on a temperate climate and is less suitable for tropical regions.
