Apure River

Río Apure

The Río Apure is a river in the west of Venezuela. It is formed by the confluence of the rivers Sarare and Uribante in the Cordillera de Mérida and then flows east through flat land ( llanos ) and ends after about 819 kilometers into the Orinoco. It is navigable for 480 km. In the flow, among other river dolphins, piranhas and turtles live. Along the riverside, anacondas, capybaras and anteaters can be observed.
