The airfield Arboga ( Swedish: Flygplats Arboga, ICAO code: ESQO ) is an airfield in Arboga, Sweden.

Location

The airport is located southeast of the core city, on the opposite side of the river Arbogaån at an altitude of 10 m AMSL. He can be reached via the European route 20.

Operations and Infrastructure

The airfield has a 2,000 m long, 40 m wide asphalt runway with orientation 15/33. As a private airfield (PPR ), it is only for flights operated under visual flight rules (VFR ) are admitted.

History

From 11 to 25 July 2011, the airfield was the site of the World Gliding Championships for women, in which aircraft of the competition classes 15 meters, club and standard were at the start. It was organized alongside the Swedish Gliding Association and the local Arboga Flygklubb.

Before the World Cup, the world championship for the class F3K gliders took place between July 10, 2011 from 3.
