Arboretum de Pézanin
The Arboretum de Pézanin is an arboretum in the field of French Dompierre -les- Ormes community. It is located in the Burgundy region between Charolles and Cluny. Every year, 25,000 people, the arboretum, making it one of the most visited places in Burgundy.
Inventory and historical overview
The Arboretum de Pézanin extends over 27 acres and located in the middle of a lake of 4 hectares. The tree inventory includes about 450 species and subspecies.
The arboretum was established by the botanist Philippe Lévêque Vilmorin (1872-1917) on the grounds of the castle Audour in 1903. After the arboretum was virtually abandoned after 1923, it was taken over in 1935 by the state.
