Archaeological Museum of Alicante

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante ( Spain) ( officially in Spanish: Museo Provincial de Alicante Arqueológica or MARQ ) was inaugurated in its present form in 2000. Five rooms are dedicated to different eras Prehistory, Iberian culture, Roman culture, Medieval and Modern. In three other halls special exhibitions. In 2004 it was awarded by the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao as Spain's second museum the European Museum of the Year.
