Are You Experienced is the debut album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, released on 12 May 1967.
After his arrival in England, in September 1966 Hendrix had formed the Jimi Hendrix Experience with Mitch Mitchell on drums and Noel Redding on bass. The shooting began on 26 October 1966, were on April 3, 1967 completed. After the band had already successfully penetrated with their singles Hey Joe, Purple Haze and The Wind Cries Mary in the top 10 in the UK charts, it was also the album Are You Experienced reach position 2 in the UK charts. 2003 placed the music magazine Rolling Stone, the album was ranked 15th of the 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.
Title list
The album was released in the U.S. and UK with different songs. The English version, which was also published in Germany, contained 11 new tracks recorded, but no pre- released singles, and no singles from the album were released, a common practice at that time. For the American version, the title Red House, Can You See Me and Remember replaced by the singles Hey Joe, Purple Haze and The Wind Cries Mary and placed the order around. Red House was ' omitted to Hendrix regret, because, according to the American record company America has no interest in blues.
Except for Billy Roberts' Hey Joe, all songs were written by Jimi Hendrix.
