Arega is a comune ( Freguesia ) at the Portuguese circuit Figueiró dos Vinhos. 855 inhabitants live in it (as at 30 June 2011).

Geography

Arega located 8 km south of the county town Figueiró dos Vinhos.

History

First city rights ( Foral ) was the place in 1071, and after the independence of the Kingdom of Portugal ( 1139 ) first introduced in 1201. Arega Until 1855 belonged to the circle Macas de Dona Maria to be since been affiliated with the circle Figueiró dos Vinhos.
