Arija (Russian Ария, Aria ), one of the first and most successful heavy metal groups of the Soviet Union and later Russia. Established in 1985.

Career

The beginnings

In the spring of 1985, Alik Granovsky and Vladimir Cholstinin began writing on her debut album Manija Welitschija. Having Viktor Weckstein elevated to manager their future musical group and yourself permission to be included in his studio secured, there were still a few items that needed to be filled. From Lejsja Pesnja ( Лейся песня ) they obtained the singer Valery Kipelow, drummer Alexander Lvov and keyboardist Kirill Pokrovsky came from Pojuschtschie Serdza ( Поющие сердца, Singing Hearts). This Arija was remarkable enough, entirely of ex- members of other bands, because Granovsky and Cholstinin came from the group Alfa ( Альфа ). The release of their debut album on October 31 of the year was at the same time as the birth Arijas and is celebrated annually by Arija up to the present day. The very next year came after the success of the first, the second album called S kem ty? out. In the meantime, you had also brought a second guitarist into the boat extra for the concerts. Andrei Bolshakov of the group Bim Bom ( Бим бом ) occupied this position in the future. In addition, Lvov, who now continue acted as sound engineer, was replaced by Igor Molchanov (also from the group Alfa ) on drums. Arija won already with the second album many places in the charts of all kinds of newspapers.

The Rebirth

The following year, in 1987 serious disputes broke the group and after a tour in January acknowledged Granovsky, Bolshakov, Molchanov and Pokrovsky; only Kipelow and Cholstinin remained. Contrary to expectations, the empty positions were filled by Vitaly Dubinin as a bass player, Sergei Mawrin as second guitarist and Maksim Udalow as a drummer; and after a tour together all rumors about the death of the group were re-created from the world. With their third album Geroj Asfalta Arija achieved in August 1987 first sales: sold over a million records, all Arija tours were booked and a music video to Ulitsa ros ( Улица роз, Street of the Roses) with thunderous Fanmassen could be rotated 1988. In addition, this year came Arija for the first time in Berlin in front of 120,000 spectators. In October, however, a great conflict between the group and their manager Weckstein built on, which frustrated Udalow left the group. Finally, they found Alexander in replacement Manjakin and also the manager was replaced by Yuri Fischkin. Together they wrote now on the new album Igra s ognjom that came out in 1989. In 1990, they signed to members Dubinin and Mawrin a contract with a German music group and disappeared after Munich. Their seats were replaced by Dmitry Bulkin and Alexei Gorbatikow, but only five months later, the pair returned back from Germany and we played from August back in the old installation. In October, work began on the fifth album now Krow sa krow and after a long festival marking the fifth anniversary of Arija announced it to the group activities back down a little.

After the break

1994 let the group hear back from when she founded her own studio Aria Records and signed a five-year contract with MOROZ Records. Arija toured again in Germany for two weeks, where they gave concerts in seven cities (including the Hard Rock Cafe Berlin ). However, the relationship between the group and the organizers deteriorated rapidly during the tour. Once this was completed, and singer Valeri Kipelow no longer appeared in the studio and they sought intermediate replacement in Alexei Bulgakov. In January 1995, then Sergei Mawrin left the group in the belief that Arija without Kipelow simply could not be successful. He, too, was first limited in time, replaced by Sergei Terent'ev. Terent'ev but later became a permanent member of the group. Kipelow sang while for Master ( Мастер ), a music group, consisting of those old Arija members who have left the group in 1987. However Kipelow returned after MOROZ Records threatened him with sanctions for a breach of contract and began recording the new album. Four years after the release of Krow sa krow this ultimately appeared towards the end of the year under the name Notsch korotsche dnja. Another video to Wosmi mojo serdze Furthermore, it was ( Возьми моё сердце, Take my heart) was added and the manager was replaced by Sergei Sadora. The group organized a series of concerts again and took her first concert album Sdelano w Rossii on, which in turn was released in 1996. In the summer of 1997, Arija also dealt with two other projects: one hand Kipelow wrote with former members Mawrin and Granovsky on Smutnoje Vremya ( Смутное время, Exciting time) and on the other hand AwArija was ( АвАрия, accident ) by Dubinin, Cholstinin and Manjakin realized. In addition, we already wrote about the new album generator sla, which was then published in 1998. In mid-1999 wrote Arija at the tribute album Tribute to Harley- Davidson and the millennium appeared Dwe - tysjatschi -i odna Notsch (2000 - и - одна ночь, 2000 and one night). The now sixteen years old group published in April 2001 Chimera. These would be the song Schtil ( Штиль, wind), which began Arija together with Udo Dirk Schneider, the lead singer of the German band UDO and ex - singer of Accept. Dirk Schneider took part in the filming of the music video as well as the following Chimera tour.

The last day

However, it soon came to tensions between the musicians and administration. During the tour Klassitscheskaja arija ( Классическая Ария, Classical aria ) announced singer Kipelow that he wants to start his own group and refused to give his vote for the already written by Cholstinin and Dubinin album. When the tour, now called by the Management Green Mile ( synonym for the way to the gas chamber ), ultimately, in a final concert called Sudnyj djen ( Судный день, Doomsday ) culminated on 31 August 2002 left Kipelow, Terent'ev and Manjakin the five-member group and founded the day after their own music group they named in honor of her singer Kipelow. Again, Arija was in a serious crisis. There were rumors that Cholstinin would now completely give Arija and also started a new group called Chimera. But in the end they found a replacement for the orphaned items. From the group Zooom Artur Berkut should in future be on the mic and Sergei Popov play second guitar. In addition, Maksim Udalow was brought back for the drums again. Even the end of the year they worked together on some new variants of Schtil and Kolisej ( Колизей, Colosseum ). Also, a new concert album called W poiskach nowoj schertwy was published in 2003. Already in the same spring, appeared the new album Kreschtschenie ognjom and thus also a video to Kolisej. 2004 appeared again a concert album, this time with the name Schiwoj ogon, which was issued with CDs and DVDs. Already in the autumn of the same year, announced one of the new album Armageddon, which was released in 2006. First, however, the extract Tschuschoj ( Чужой, Stranger ) has been published. Recently a new concert album Pljaska ada was published in 2007.
