Ariha (Arabic أريحا, ARIHA DMG ) is a city in Idlib province in northwest Syria. The city has about 58 380 inhabitants (estimate 2013).

History

During the civil war in Syria, the city was for many months the scene of fighting between the Syrian army and the Free Syrian Army. In the fighting, more than 400 residents of the city died (March 2013). In August 2012, insurgents to capture about 80 % of the city and to hold.
