Arik Benado

Arik Benado (Hebrew אריק בנאדו; born December 5, 1973 in Haifa, Israel) is a former Israeli footballer. He is an Israeli -capped player.

Playing career

His father Shlomo played in the 1970s for Haifa. Arik started as a nine year old boy playing football and went through all the youth teams to seniors. In order to get match practice, he played the mid-1990s for two years at Beitar and then returned to Haifa. He won several times the national championship once and the cup with Maccabi Haifa. His first international game he played on 17 May 1995 against the then world champions Brazil. In 2002, he managed with Maccabi Haifa became the first Israeli team to reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League 2002/ 03. On 3 September 2005, he was with his 86th international game of Israeli 's most capped player. In 2006 he moved after ten years in Haifa back to Beitar Jerusalem, with whom he was 2007 champion. He made his last international match on 8 September 2007 ( 0-3 against England).
