Arnhem–Nijmegen railway

The railway Arnhem -Nijmegen is a railway line between Arnhem and Nijmegen. The railway is an important compound in the eastern Netherlands. The distance is about 17 kilometers.

History

On 15 June 1879, the route was opened. Between 1980 and 2001, there were between Arnhem and Nijmegen only the station in Elst. However, 2001 and 2005, one station came in Nijmegen and Arnhem to do so. The line was electrified on April 2, 1940. The line passes through two major rivers, the bridge at Arnhem on the Lower Rhine and the bridge at Nijmegen over the Waal.

Train services

Currently operating on the route intercity trains from Nijmegen Arnhem to Schiphol, from Nijmegen Arnhem to Den Helder, Roosendaal about Nijmegen to Arnhem and Zwolle On Nijmegen to Arnhem. In addition, still runs some regional trains from Arnhem via Elst in the direction of Nijmegen and Tiel.
