Arnoltice

Arnoltice ( German Arnsdorf ) is a municipality with 302 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located 8 kilometers north-east of Decin and heard the Okres Decin on.

The village is located 343 m above sea level on a plateau in the Bohemian Switzerland at the headwaters of Dürrkamnitzbaches ( Sucha Kamenice ).

History

Arnsdorf was first documented in 1352. Worth seeing is the built in 1757-1758 according to the plans of the architect JF Kosche late Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. After a fire in 1910 the building was restored in 1959. The town lives mainly from tourism and has the village green for the area typical block and half-timbered houses. North of the village is a former windmill.

In the woods west of Arnoltice near the Belvedere Avenue, founded in 1776 is the expiation for the cross Arnsdorfer inhabitants Matthew Gaudernack.

Through the valley of the Dry Kamenice along the Arnoltické stěny ( Arnsdorfer walls) A hiking trail leads to the Elbe valley above Hřensko.
