Arnulf Øverland
Ole Peter Arnulf Øverland (* April 27, 1889 in Kristiansund, † March 25, 1968 ) was a Norwegian poet and writer.
During the German occupation of Norway he came to the prison camp Grini and in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The Swede Sven Hedin sat a vain for his release.
Arnulf Øverland made , inter alia, to as an advocate of the unofficial language form Riksmål a name and was 1947-1956 Chairman of the Riksmålsforbundet.
A well-known poem by Øverland is "You må ikke sove " ( You can not sleep ). He also wrote and spoke atheistic political pamphlets.
