Arnved Nedkvitne

Arnved Nedkvitne ( born May 21, 1947 in Haugesund ) is a Norwegian medieval historian. He was between 1991-1993 Professor at the University of Trondheim, and since 1993 has been professor of medieval history at the University of Oslo. Nedkvitne has published several books in Norwegian, Swedish, German and English, and is considered an expert on the economic history of the Middle Ages in Scandinavia.

Nedkvitne studied history at the University of Bergen and received his doctorate in 1983. In February 2009, he was dismissed by the university administration because of critical remarks.
