APARCAY ( until 1922 Zaruşat ) is a town and a district of Kars Province in north-eastern Turkey. APARCAY is located in the north of the province, bordering the province of Ardahan. APARCAY has a 10 -km-long border with Armenia. The district has 19,832 inhabitants APARCAY, the city 2,549 (as of 2011 ). The city and the county were named after the river APARCAY.

Since the 16th century APARCAY was part of the Ottoman Empire. Between 1877 and 1918 it was part of the Russian Empire and was in 1905-1918 Grenaderskoye.
