Arque

Arque is a town in the Cochabamba Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Arque is the seat of the administration of the province Arque and central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Arque. The village lies at an altitude of 2742 m in the valley of the Río Arque, one of the headwaters of the Bolivian Río Grande, in the Bolivian Cordillera Central.

Geography

Arque located in one of the northern foothills of the Bolivian Cordillera Central. The climate is semi-arid and a typical diurnal climate where the average temperature differences between day and night be more pronounced than between seasons.

Arque has an average annual rainfall of 600 mm and a mean annual temperature of 11 ° C. The dry season lasts from May to September and has lower temperatures, but frost-free. The rainy season lasts from December to February and is warmer than the annual average (see climate chart Arque ).

Traffic network

By Arque runs a major link road between the cities of Oruro and Cochabamba, parallel to the north extending highway Ruta 4 links the provincial capitals Bolívar, Arque and Capinota and follows between Arque and Capinota course of the river Río Arque.
