Arsen Galstyan

Arsenic Galstjan (Russian Арсен Жораевич Галстян, English spelling arsenic Galstyan; born February 19, 1989 in Nerkin Karmiraghbjur, Tavush province of Armenia ) is a Russian judoka. It occurs in the super light weight of ( class up to 60 kg).

Galstjan won the 2005 at the Russian Championships in the U17 age group its first national title. In March 2006, March 2007 and in March 2008 he won the Russian Championships in the U20 age group and finished in November 2007 in this championship in third place in his weight class. In October 2007 he became European Champion U20 in Prague in April 2009, European champion in Tbilisi. His first global championship titles won Galstja at the Junior World Championships in October 2008 in Bangkok, next he won more international tournaments or placed in the upper echelons. At the world championships in Tokyo in October 2010, he was third, also at the European Championships in Istanbul in April 2011. At the World Championships in Paris in August 2011, he finished seventh.

2012 took Galstjan first part in the Summer Olympic Games in London. Here he won the gold medal in his weight class with a victory over the Japanese Hiroaki Hiraoka with an ippon after just 41 seconds after he had already won in the semifinals against the Uzbeks and reigning world champion Rischod Sobirow.
