Arsinée Khanjian

Arsinée Khanjian ( born September 6, 1958 in Beirut, Lebanon ) is an Armenian living in Canada actress and film director.

Life and achievements

Born the daughter of Armenian parents, she grew up initially in Beirut. 1975 her parents fled to Canada. Khanjian has, inspired by her parents, received a degree from Concordia University and there acquired a bachelor's degree for French and Spanish language. Then it is changed to the University of Toronto, where she earned a master's degree in political science. Her husband Atom Egoyan, they proposed making to deal with acting.

She played in the film The Lark Farm ( original title: La Masseria delle allodole ) with that caught at the Berlinale 2007 sensation. The politically charged film ran out of competition at the Berlinale and is about the Armenian genocide that happened in 1915 on the territory of modern Turkey and is denied by the official Turkey.

Won the 1999 Khanjian as best dramatic actress the Gemini Award for the TV series Foolish Heart. In 2006 she was awarded Best Actress Genie Award for the film Sabah.
