Arthur Eisenmenger

Arthur Eisenmenger (* 1909 or 1914; † 19 February 2002) was a former chief graphic designer of the European Community ( EC). He claimed to have been the originator of the euro sign ( € ).

Life

Eisenmenger came from Swabia, and studied art. During the Berlin Airlift its graphical representations of complex air operations helped to secure the U.S. General Lucius D. For his contribution to the European unification the CDU member Eisenmenger [Note 1] was presented in 1999 at the initiative of the MEP Rainer Wieland the Robert Schuman Medal of the EPP / ED Group in the European Parliament.

Eisenmenger was married. He lived most recently in Eislingen / Fils.
