Arto Tolsa

Arto Vilho Tolsa ( born August 9, 1945 in Kotka, † March 30, 1989 ) was a Finnish football players.

Career

Tolsa played for Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat (KTP ) in the Mestaruussarja. In 201 games 1963-1982 he scored 126 goals. In the season of 1964, he was top scorer with 26 goals in 22 games. In 1967 he won the Finnish Cup with his first title.

1968 moved to Beerschot VAC Tolsa. Here he scored 14 goals in 200 games. 1971, 1974 and 1977, he was named Footballer of the Year in Finland. In 1979 he returned to Finland and to KTP. It was in 1980 with the Finnish club cup winners and ended with this title win his active career.

Tolsa also played 77 caps for Finland.

Tolsa after his career had alcohol problems and died in 1989 at the age of 43 of a disease. The FC KooTeePee, successor organization of Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat, plays its home games from the Arto Tolsa Areena named after the player.
