Artsruni

The Armenian dynasty of Arzruni ( Արծրունիներ ), also Ardsruni or Artsruni, ruled the Kingdom Vaspurakan in southwestern Armenia, between Lake Van and the Great Zab. They derived their origin from the Assyrian king Sennacherib.

History

The rule of the dynasty Vaspurakan ended in the first quarter of the 11th century with the death of King Gagik Arzruni. Because of the eastern invaders established the Arzruni in Cappadocia. 1021 received Senekerim Arzruni Amaziah, Sebaste and Evdokia as a fief of the Byzantine Emperor.
