Arturo Jauretche

Arturo Jauretche ( born November 13, 1901 in Lincoln, † May 25 1974 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine journalist, politician and writer.

Life

Arturo Jauretche was politically interested and engaged from his youth, and in 1919, Argentina's party appointed secretary of the Conservatives. Later he joined a partisan President Hipólito Yrigoyens for Unión Civica Radical. When he was overthrown in 1930 by General José Félix Uriburu, many of whose supporters rallied in the underground and initiated a rebellion in 1933, at the Jauretche also participated. This revolution failed and Jauretche came with some of his friends in the prison of Corrientes.

During his detention, wrote his Jauretche " El paso de los libros ," which he wrote in the style of Gaucholiteratur. In 1935 he founded together with Homero Manzi, inter alia, the Fuerza de Orientación de la Joven Argentina ( FORJA ) to give Yrigoyen and his policies an unmistakable voice. About this political work it came to friendship and cooperation with Juan Perón, who entrusted him in 1947 with the management of the Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.

The policy Perón ( Peronism ) could not and would not follow Jauretche from 1951 and resigned from his position. This led to the following year a ban on writing by yourself. After the fall of Perón, he founded the politically oriented newspaper "El 45 ", but which was already prohibited by Eduardo Lonardi again. Jauretche went into exile in Uruguay, where he worked among other things as a journalist. He founded the newspaper "El Lider " and also wrote for the newspaper " La Opinión " regularly sometimes very polemical articles. Shortly before his death Jauretche returned to Buenos Aires. He was appointed in 1973 as managing director of the university press EUDEBA. He died at the age of 73 in his hometown and found his final resting place.
