Aspire Dome

The Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence in ar - Rayyan west of the Qatari capital Doha is one of the largest training centers for athletes. It was opened in 2004 and cost over $ 1 billion. The complex has, among other seven football fields, tennis courts and running tracks, as well as various sports halls, laboratories, weight rooms and dormitories for up to 1,000 athletes and an Olympic swimming center. Also located in the center of the Aspire Sports Dome, an indoor sports stadium, which has around 15,000 spectators and with approximately 250,000 sqm of covered space is one of the largest indoor facilities in the world.

Was built the stadium under the direction of Roger Taillibert, built under the the Olympic Stadium in Montreal and the Parc des Princes stadium were rebuilt.

The Aspire Academy primarily serves the objective of becoming the most talented young athletes of the region 's top athletes. Among the sports that particularly supports Aspire, including football, table tennis, fencing, athletics and swimming. The first major international event in the system were the Asian Games 2006.

2008 we expanded the Aspire Academy and founded in Boyard Valley, on the outskirts of Dakar in Senegal as a Partner Academy Aspire Senegal. In the same year they specialized in football on African talent.

Preparations are here also to the Football World Cup 2022 in their own country.

The center is run by the German Andreas Bleicher, and cooperates closely with German sportsmen such as table tennis with Steffen Fetzner or football with Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Schalke 04

In October 2011 it was announced that the German high jumper Ariane Friedrich had to cancel a planned training camp in Qatar, because they are " undesirable " than female athlete in the Aspire Academy.
