Astrid Kirchherr

Astrid Kirchherr ( born May 20, 1938 in Hamburg ) is a German photographer and artist. Your photos of the Beatles can be found in the books and publications worldwide.

Life

Astrid Kirchherr graduated in 1960 graduated from the School of Fashion, Textile, Graphic Design and Advertising (now Department Design HAW Hamburg) and became in 1959 assistant by Reinhart Wolf. In October 1960, she was taken away by her then boyfriend Klaus Voormann and Jürgen Vollmer in the Kaiser cellar in Hamburg, where they the Beatles - then with Pete Best on drums - met. From Kirchherr come the first professional photos of the Beatles, she made in early November 1960 by them.

Today, Astrid Kirchherr lives in Hamburg. She was married twice and has no children.
