Atatürkist Thought Association

The Atatürkçü Düşünce Derneği ( German: " Association for the Promotion of Atatürk's ideas "; Abbreviation: ADD) is a Kemalist Turkish political and cultural club.

Founding and goals

The Association was founded on May 19, 1989 in Ankara. The May 19th as the beginning of the Turkish War of a Turkish holiday ( 19 Mayıs Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı ). The ADD is as ends in the promotion of science and culture in Turkey and peace-oriented foreign policy and is committed to pluralism and liberal and social human rights. He opposes racism and understands all the people who are born within the borders of the Turkish National Pact of 1920, as " Turks". He maintains centers and offices in many Turkish cities, comparatively few in the east and southeast of the country. Its total assets amounted to approximately 4.3 million YTL in 2012. The current chairman is Tansel Çölaşan, wife of Emin Çölaşan.

Activities

The Association participated in the preparation and implementation of the protests against the AKP government in 2007 and 2013. She is also active in the diaspora and organized in Europe under the name " Federation of Associations for the Promotion of Ataturk Thought in Europe". German local associations participated in several German cities to demonstrations of solidarity for the protests in Turkey since the end of May 2013. They protested against the deployment of Patriot defense systems of the Bundeswehr in Turkey.
