Athanasios Eftaxias

Athanasios Eftaxias (Greek Αθανάσιος Ευταξίας, * 1849 in Locris ( Phthiotis ), † 1931) was a Greek politician and former Prime Minister.

The son of a priest began his political career after studying with the election of deputies of the National Assembly ( Vouli ton Ellinon ). There he represented the constituency of Phthiotis. Later, he was first finance minister from August 1909 to January 1910 and also from January to October 1910 Interior Minister in the Cabinets of Kiriakoulis Mavromichalis and Stephanos Dragoumis. In the transitional cabinet of Nicholas Triantaphillakos he was in September 1922 again Minister of Finance.

From 19 July to 23 August 1926, he was finally himself Prime Minister of the transitional government.
