Athittayawong

Athittayawong ( Thai สมเด็จ พระ อาทิตย วงศ์ - Somdet Phra Athittayawong; * 1618 in Ayutthaya, Thailand) was in the 1629 King of Ayutthaya for 38 days and is run as a 23 (or according to other Census 24 Monarch ) of Ayutthaya.

Life

Athittayawong was the second son of King Songtham out of the house Sukhothai and the younger brother of the previous king Chetthathirat. After Chetthathirat had been killed by the war minister Chao Phraya Kalahom Suriyawong ( เจ้าพระยา กลาโหม สุริย วงศ์ ), he set the first ten years of Athittayawong to the throne and took over the regency.

After less than a month were the Hofadligen and officials that the king was too young for his job and declared Suriyawong to the new rulers. He took the throne name Prasat Thong and reigned from 1629 to 1656.
