The Atlanta Marriott Marquis is a skyscraper in Atlanta. It is operated by the Marriott hotel chain as a hotel. The 169 meter high building was designed by architect John C.Portman, Jr. At its opening in 1985 it had 143 meters the tallest atrium. It lost only with the opening of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai this record.
