The SE Atos (formerly Atos Origin ) is a listed French IT service provider headquartered in Bezons in Paris. The business segments of the company include payment transactions, consulting and technology services, systems integration and outsourcing services.

History

Atos Origin was formed by the merger of the French company Atos Origin with the Dutch company in 2000. The company grew steadily, partly through acquisitions, and by outsourcing agreements with personnel and technology transfer. In 2002, originated from the acquisition of the consulting business of KPMG in the UK and the Netherlands, the company Atos Consulting. Thus, the Group secured a strong foothold in the consulting segment of the IT market.

In January 2004, Atos Origin acquired by Schlumberger Sema Group and formed one of the largest European companies for IT services. Criticism

In the UK, the Atos Healthcare Division has drawn criticism for its implementation of the work capacity assessment of people with disabilities on behalf of the UK Department for Work and Pensions. The criticism comes from the media, the medical profession and protest groups. Even a government report called the Atos tests for the detection of disability in July 2012 " flawed".
