Atos IT Solutions and Services GmbH ( from the English solutions and services for " solutions and services") is the German subsidiary of French IT service provider Atos. The company provides business consulting, systems integration, management of IT infrastructures and industry-specific IT solutions and thus covers from consulting to system integration and maintenance of the entire IT service chain from a single line from.
The company emerged from the IT division of Siemens and contributed to August 2011, the name "Siemens IT Solutions and Services GmbH" ( or SIS ). By the end of 2010, the sale to the French company Atos was known. Siemens holds after the transaction accounted for 15 percent of Atos and is also its largest customer. In the Siemens Group, SIS supported the Siemens Sectors Industry, Energy and Healthcare with IT expertise. A special focus is on fully integrated, industry-specific IT solutions that are developed together with the Siemens Sectors.
The SIS was formed in January 2007 and achieved sales of around 4.2 billion euros in fiscal 2010. International presence in 42 countries, the SIS employed approximately 32,000 people worldwide.
History
SIS originally arose from the spin-off of Siemens' internal IT departments of the areas into a separate company. The Siemens Business Services GmbH & Co. OHG was founded on 1 October 1995 as a subsidiary of Siemens AG. This young company started with 2,100 employees and generated a turnover of one billion German Mark during his first year in business. The core business was in the range of services especially for the Siemens AG.
On 1 October 1998 Siemens Nixdorf was dissolved as a corporation and fully integrated into the Siemens AG, where large parts migrated to SBS. The SNI hardware and computer manufacturing was introduced into the joint venture Fujitsu Siemens Computers AG in 1999.
Within the Siemens group SBS was in August 2001 due to falling prices and mismanagement to the " problem children " of the Executive Committee. In fiscal year ( expiry on 30 September 2005) began with 36,100 employees worldwide SBS 5.373 billion euros, of which 2.3 billion euros in Germany. 23 percent of its sales generated by its own account, the area with its parent company.

On 15 January 2007, Siemens Business Services GmbH & Co. OHG in Siemens IT Solutions and Services GmbH & Co. OHG (SIS ) has been renamed.
On 1 June 2007, the SIS GmbH & Co. OHG was incorporated by accretion as business Siemens IT Solutions and Services in the Siemens AG. It was later by merging the SIS with other units of the cross-sectoral division, Siemens IT Solutions and Services. In addition to the SIS itself were the PSE ( Program and System Engineering, Austria ), SISL (Siemens Information Systems Ltd. , India), DIP ( Development Innovation and Projects, Greece ) and BIC ( Business Innovation Centre, Switzerland ).

On 14 December 2010, Siemens announced the sale of the company to Atos Origin (following the acquisition renamed to " Atos " ) in July 2011 to known, subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities and the shareholders of the buyer. The sale was completed with the approval of the Atos shareholders on 1 July 2011.
They describe is the " Atos IT Solutions and Services GmbH" (AIS ) through the merger or acquisition of the former SIS by Atos Origin, the No. 3 IT companies in terms of turnover ( 8.2 billion in 2009) and world number 7 ( 9.2 billion in 2009).
Business
The former SIS offers its customers mainly of services. This includes consulting, systems integration, management of IT infrastructures as well as software development.
After some heavy losses, the Siemens wrote the meantime back in the black and in fiscal year 2009 ( October 2008-September 2009 ) a profit of 90 million euros.
The SIS most recently employed about 35,000 people worldwide and generated sales of around € 4.7 billion (fiscal year 2009).
Today Atos IT Solutions and Services GmbH is also continues to own at various IT outsourcing companies, such as Siemens IT Services and Consulting (formerly SBI Ruhr), the WIVERTIS or Applied International Informatics.
