Attigny (Ardennes)

Attigny is a commune with 1234 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Ardennes department in the Champagne- Ardenne region; it belongs to the district Vouziers and Canton Attigny. The municipality is located on the Aisne between Rethel and Vouziers.

History

In the 8th and 9th century, the royal palace Attigny was one of the main residences of the Carolingians.
