Atul Khare

Atul Khare ( born 1959 ) is an Indian diplomat.

Diplomatic career

First, Khare served as Indian diplomat in France, Mauritius, Senegal, Thailand and the United Kingdom and in the representation of India at the United Nations in New York.

Khare has worked from June 2002 to May 2005 at the United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor ( UNMISET ) as Chief of Staff and later as Annan's Deputy Special Representative.

He also served as Deputy High Commissioner in Mauritius, Counsellor in India's UN Mission and Charge d ' Affaires in Senegal, where he was also accredited for Mali, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea- Bissau and Cape Verde. Khare also had the post of Chef de Cabinet of the Foreign Ministry in New Delhi and the Director (UN ) in the External Affairs Ministry.

On 6 December 2006 Khare of the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan as successor of Japanese Sukehiro Hasegawa to the UN Special Representative for Timor-Leste and Head of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor -Leste ( UNMIT ) was appointed. On 4 December 2009 Ameerah Haq came from Bangladesh, Khare as new Special Representative and UNMIT chief. Khare was appointed on 30 April 2010 as Assistant Secretary - General for Peacekeeping Operations.

Since 1 June 2011, Khare Head of Change Management Team (CMT ) of the United Nations, which is to increase the efficiency of the organization.

Others

Khare has a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and a Master's degree in business administration and leadership of the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. He is the author Vandna Khare. married.
