2000 award of university status and renamed Auckland University of Technology

The Auckland University of Technology is a university in Auckland, New Zealand.

The main campus is located at the Wellesley Street in the city center of Auckland, in the immediate vicinity of the University of Auckland. In Akoranga close to the Auckland Harbour Bridge Auckland University of Technology has a second campus.

In the year 2005 22.111 students were enrolled at the university.

History

In 1895 the Auckland Technical School was established evening classes offered. In 1913 she was renamed Seddon Memorial Technical College and in 1960 in Auckland Technical Institute (ATI). In 1989, resulting the Auckland Institute of Technology (AIT ). 2000, the College of the University status was granted and she took on its present name Auckland University of Technology.
