August Heim

August Home (* March 13, 1904, † May 8, 1976 ) was a German fencer who won two Olympic bronze medals in 1936.

The fencers from the Fencing Club Offenbach was initially successful with the rapier, later he appeared frequently on both the competitions with the foil and as well as in those with the saber. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928, he belonged to the foil team and retired in the first round out. 1930 Home won his first German championship with the foil, in 1932 and 1937 was followed by two more titles; 1933, 1934, 1935 and 1938 he was German champion with the saber.

1931 won the German men's team at the unofficial World Fencing Championships in the cast Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, August Heinrich Home and moss the bronze medal in saber fencing. 1935 repeated Julius iron Ecker, Hans Esser, August Home, Henry Moss and Richard choice this success. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the German saber team with Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, Hans Esser, August Heim, Hans Jörger and Richard choice won the bronze medal. Also won bronze foil the German equipe with Otto Adam, Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, August Home, Siegfried Lerdon and Stefan Rosenbauer. 1937, the first official World Fencing Championships took place; the German saber team with Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, Hans Esser, August Home, Henry Moss and Richard choice again received the bronze medal.
