Otto Adam

Otto Adam (* November 24, 1909, † December 2, 1977 in Ottweiler ) was a German fencer.

Life

Otto Adam fought from 1933 with foil and saber over a decade in all German Finals. In 1936 he was at the Olympic Games in Berlin to the foil team with Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, August Home, Siegfried Lerdon and Stefan Rosenbauer who won the bronze medal for Germany. In 1954 he was again German Vice Champion with foil and third in saber fencing. From 1952 to 1974 he was President of the Saarland fencer Federal FBS. In 1957 he was appointed to the office of President of the German Fencing Association, which he held until 1970. In the years of his administration, German fencer is found again after the world's best. After that, he was honorary president of the German Fencing Federation. Adam was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
