August Rauber

August Rauber ( born March 22, 1841 in Obermoschel in the Palatinate, .. † 16 Februarjul / March 1 1917greg in Dorpat, now Tartu ) was a German anatomist.

Rauber studied in Munich and in 1865 received his doctorate to the Dr. med. After his habilitation in 1869, he went in 1872 as prosector to Basel and then with Wilhelm His to Leipzig. In 1873 he became an associate professor.

In 1886 he became a full professor of anatomy and director of the anatomical institute at the University of Dorpat.
