Auguste Baud-Bovy

Auguste Baud -Bovy ( born February 13, 1848 in Geneva, † June 3, 1899 in Davos ) was a Swiss painter.

Baud -Bovy was a student of Barthélémy Menn, his works were under the influence of Gustave Courbet, Camille Corot later. He painted especially impressive alpine views. From 1882 to 1888 he lived in Paris, then in Spiez. He was the father of the Swiss author Daniel Baud -Bovy ( 1870-1958 ).
