Auguste Regnaud de Saint-Jean d'Angély

Auguste Michel -Etienne, comte de Saint -Jean d' Regnaud Angely ( born July 29, 1794 in Paris, † February 1, 1870 in Cannes) was a French general and statesman, Marshal of France.

Auguste was the son of Count Michel -Louis- Etienne Regnaud de Saint- Jean d' Angely (1762-1819), who held several high offices under Napoleon I..

He made as a second lieutenant of Hussars with the Russian campaign, was assigned after the Battle of Leipzig the Imperial General Staff, in 1815 was appointed adjutant and at Waterloo for Eskadronschef and therefore deleted the Restoration of the army list.

In 1825 he went to Greece and erected here a rider Corps. After he had again obtained by the July Revolution of his rank obtained in Waterloo, he made as a colonel with the Belgian campaign and was made in 1841 as a major general at the head of the military administration of the department of Meurthe. In 1849 he became general of division, and was from 19 to January 24, 1851 Minister of War.
