Augustus Holmes Kenan

Augustus Holmes Kenan (* April 21, 1805 in Baldwin County, Georgia, † June 2, 1870 in Milledgeville, Georgia ) was an American politician. He was the cousin of Owen Rand Kenan. He also was with Henrietta Alston, niece of Willis Alston and sister of Augustus A. Alston, married. He was the father of Lewis Holmes Kenan.

Kenan served in the House of Representatives and in the Senate from Georgia. He also represented Georgia at the 1861 secession convention, where he was initially against the detachment. He was then elected to the Provisional Konföderiertenkongress and later in the House of Representatives of the first Konföderiertenkongresses.

He died in Milledgeville and was buried there on the Memory Hill Cemetery.
