Augustus Van Dievoet

August van Dievoet ( May 3, 1803 in Brussels, † October 31, 1865 ), was legal historian, judge and attorney in the Belgian Court of Cassation.

He studied law at the State University of Leuven, where he earned his Doctorate of Laws in 1827. He was a pupil of Leopold August warning King, Johann Michael Franz Birnbaum and Friedrich Carl von Savigny.

He put his oath as a lawyer on 7 April 1827 in the time of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands from. He was the son of Johann Ludwig van Dievoet (1777-1854), Secretary of the Supreme Court of Belgium, and the father of Jules van Dievoet (1844-1917), also a lawyer at the Supreme Court in Brussels.
