Auron (river)

The Auron is a river in France, which runs in the regions of Auvergne and Centre. It rises in the municipality of Couleuvre, drained generally in a northwesterly direction and leads after 77 km in the city of Bourges as a left tributary of the Yèvre. In its upper reaches it was dammed to the reservoir Etang de Goule and used for water supply of the former shipping channel Canal de Berry. He first passes under the Northeast section of the channel and reaches Bannegon the Northwest section that follows it to its mouth in the Yèvre a side-channel. On his way to the Auron crosses the departments of Allier and Cher.
