Australia at the 1896 Summer Olympics

An athlete from the state of Victoria, which at the time was a British colony and later belonged to Australia took for Australia at the Olympic Summer Games 1896 in Athens, Greece, in part. Although Edwin Flack was born in England and lived in London in 1896 but spent most of his life in Australia and is therefore considered by the International Olympic Committee as an Australian athlete.

Flack took part in a total of five competitions and has won three medals. The bronze medal in tennis was won in a mixed doubles and is not therefore as a medal for Australia.
